We see many biblical reference about Words. Words/tongues are very powerful. Wars have started because of words. Babies are conceived because of words. Unfortunately, there have been so many deaths of innocent people due to words. Consider the circumstance of the death of Emmett Till – caused by the words of a white woman who accused him of sexual advancement. She later recanted her WORDS. The Tulsa Massacre also started because of words.
The words we speak to our children and the tone used can create a home without the feeling of love. I had a great mentor who once said to me, at the end of the day which you pull into your driveway and see your child’s bicycle blocking your entry, how you respond to the situation will determine what type of evening the entire family will have.
The most important person is you when it comes to words. How do you speak to yourself? Is imposter syndrome in play? Do you tell yourself you can’t not accomplish a task? You are not good enough? You are not smart enough? Not pretty or handsome enough? Says who? You said it and you believe it!!
Stop it and flip it. You are listening to every word you are saying to yourself. Try to flip it!! Every time you have a negative thought, flip it: I can do it!! I am good at what I do!! I am extremely smart and capable of learning more. An always go back to Philipians 4:13.
Exercise for this week: each night before bed, write 2 positive things about yourself. It can be an adjective or a paragraph.
